Pakistan looks forward to enhanced bilateral ties with US: Zardari

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has that said Pakistan looks forward to engage more closely with the United States on bilateral political track including strategic dialogue.

Talking to US Senator John Kerry on Tuesday, the President stressed the need of channeling it through the government in accordance with its priorities and programmes to ensure transparency, accountability and efficacy.

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari will start four-day official tour of Turkey on Sunday to attend a trilateral summit with his Turkish and Afghan counterparts, aimed at steadily enhancing relations among the three countries and to continue efforts for bringing a lasting, durable peace to Afghanistan.

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said he will welcome President Asif Zardari if he could visit Lahore in his presence. SC issues detailed ruling in NRO case

Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday issued the detailed judgment in the National Reconciliation Ordinance case.
The 287-page detailed ruling was penned by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
The judgment was signed by Justice Khalil Ramday on Jan 12 before his retirement.

Citing the example of Filipino dictator Ferdinand Marcos, the ruling said that the Philippine government had also brought the looted money by the dictator back to the country from Switzerland, which could be taken as a reference.
