ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said he has no clash with the judiciary and will not take any step to risk the stability of the institutions. “I want to make it clear. Remove this misunderstanding that I am not at good terms with the judiciary,” the Prime Minister told reporters after a surprise visit to a local girls school.

“Whenever I say something, there is some weight behind it,” he categorically said, and added that he never changed stance after a statement.

Gilani noted the efforts and sufferings of judiciary as well as of the politicians for upholding the state institutions.

He said the government would stay in power for five years in accordance with the mandate of people.

“The government has come to stay,” Gilani said and added now there was political maturity amongst the politicians.

“We will not take any step that will threaten the stability of state institutions. There is no clash of institutions,” he said.

On Opposition’s criticism on government’s various moves, the Prime Minister said “we are on very good terms with them” and appreciated role of the opposition which was pinpointing the government’s weaknesses.

Regarding a report by the Asian Development Bank that the power tariff will increase by around 80 per cent, the prime minister said unlike the past, his government brought the matter before the cabinet and if there were any more queries, these should be addressed to the Minister for water and power and the Finance Minister.

He said the Asian Development Bank report was sought after demands in the media and opposition for third party validation and the project of rental power projects was delayed for three months.

He asked the media not to interpret on its own the findings of the report unless they seek clarification from the Finance Minister and Minister for Water and Power.

He said the education policy was being implemented in consultation with all the four provinces.

Prime Minister Gilani earlier, paid a surprise visit to F.G Model Girls High School, G-8/4 to inspect the quality of education being provided to the students.

The Prime Minister’s unannounced visit was a total surprise for the school administration. He took round of various classrooms and directed improvement of facilities for the students.

He interacted with the girl students and inquired about their academic activities and other problems being faced by them at the school.
